"The day of Yahweh is darkness, not light" (Amos 5:18)
”I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:7)
Before
we dive into the book of revelations, we must familiarize ourselves
with some basic facts about these cultures. It is obvious that Jews take
their language from Canaanite & Sumerian origins. These cultures
are mentioned much in the old testament. Thus it is not far fetched to
find parallels between these cultures.
El is the creator God of
the Canaanites. Jews usually attest that Yahweh is in fact El. We must
also familiarize ourselves with Yam. His pet Lotan is a dragon with 7
heads. Sound familiar? Yam is said to be favored by El & battles
Ba'al for his throne. This sets the stage for our comparative analysis.
Considering that they descended from the same tribes, it is likely we
will find parallels.
”First, in the Ugaritic texts the god El
is revealed to be wholly benevolent in nature, whereas Yahweh has a
fierce as well as a kind side. Secondly, as T.N.D. Mettinger has rightly
emphasized, the earliest evidence, such as that found in Judg. 5.4-5,
associates Yahweh with the storm, which was not something with which El
was connected at all.”
[Yahweh and the Gods and Goddesses of Canaan by John Day, pg. 13-14]
“My
son [shall not be called] by the name of Yw, o goddess, [Jfc ym smh
(?)] [but Ym shall be his name!] So he proclaimed the name of Yammu.”
[Johannes Cornelis de Moor's, The rise of Yahwism: the roots of Israelite monotheism; Ugaritic cuneiform text KTU 1.1:IV:14-15]
One
might think it's clearly 2 different gods. But as we can see, Yammu or
Yam was meant to be named Yw; very close to YHWH. There is a widespread
belief that this cuneiform proves Yahweh worship existed prior to the
founding of Israel.
“And it shall be at that day, saith the
Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali. For
I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall
no more be remembered by their name." (Hosea 2: 16-17)
In
Hebrew yam simply means sea & Ba'al simply means Lord & Ishi
means husband. Here we have a clear example of Yahweh being associated
with the name Ba'al. Which is supposed to be a contradiction as the
Israelite's battle the worshipers of Ba'al of Peor & Ba'al in
general as seen in: 1 Kings 18:19 & 16:31-33; Numbers 25:3; Joshua
19:8; Jeremiah 19:5 and elsewhere. Both Ba'al in the Ugaritic cuneiform
& Yahweh himself are depicted overcoming the sea & Leviathan in
Psalm 74: 13; Job 7: 12; Job 26: 12; Job 38: 8. Even in earlier books of
the bible, LORD God is translated as Elohim which is plural, meaning
there were more than 1 god. Their image was that of a man, 'Adam looked
liked them. In the beginning 'Adam did not know the
difference between good and evil. But El and His secondary gods knew.
This is a clear indication that prior to Israel's founding the people we
now call Jews were polytheistic who then transitioned to monotheism. In
fact we can see this transition within the bible itself, as if God was
not the only god & was associated with what Christians regard as
rival gods.
"I said, ‘You are “gods"; you are all sons of the Most High." (Psalm 82: 6)
"God presides in the great assembly; he renders judgment among the “gods"" (Psalm 82:1)
Many attempts have been made to translate this psalm to sound more in line with orthodox Christian thought, and often "gods" is placed within quotation marks or translated as "angels", but the Hebrew is really quite unambiguous. Indeed one might think these are angels, but this is clearly not referenced as a messenger. As the Jews established themselves they began to rationalize their religion. It needed internal consistency. Considering the Jews likely didn't know or care about the cuneiform shown earlier, it's logical to assume new characteristics developed as has happened with many gods of Mesopotamia. So who are these gods? Yam, El, Ba'al & Asherah are the gods relevant to our purposes.
“Excavated at Ugarit, the tale of Baal’s conquest of the sea is described in an epic cycle of six tablets. After a rather obscure opening, the god Yamm (the Sea) sends a message to the divine assembly demanding that Baal surrender. El, the aging chief deity, agrees to the request. He demands that Baal surrender to Yamm’s messengers. But Baal resists. With the encouragement and assistance of Kothar-wa-Hasis, the craftsman god, Baal engages the Sea in battle. He pummels Yamm with his mace and defeats him.
Following
the victory, Anat, El’s daughter who is also called Baal’s sister, goes
on a rampage and slaughters human enemies presumably allied against
Baal. Afterward, Baal pursues the construction of a magnificent royal
palace on his sacred mountain. The craftsman Kothar-wa-Hasis suggests
that the palace have windows, but Baal disagrees so that Yamm/Nahar
cannot enter stealthily. Cedars are brought from Lebanon together with
silver, gold, and precious stones to adorn the palace. When the building
is finished, all the deities celebrate with a great feast. Afterward,
Baal defeats all of his enemies in surrounding territories in order to
form an empire for himself. Now flush with victory, Baal sends a courier
to Mot, son of El and ruler of the Underworld, to declare his kingship.
But Mot in his reply turns the tables on his adversary and invites him
to come to the Underworld. When Baal accepts and descends, he becomes
trapped in the vise of death, which results in the cessation of rain.
Anat, Baal’s sister and the goddess of hunting and war, goes in search
of him. Finding him in the realm of the dead, she confronts Mot, attacks
him with a knife and winnowing fork, and burns his body, which is then
eaten by birds. Now rescued, Baal resumes his place on the royal throne.
But Mot revives and the two giants of the heavens battle. Finally, Mot
capitulates and declares Baal to be the rightful ruler of the cosmos.”
[The Gods and Goddesses of Canaan by Ira Spar; Department of Ancient Near Eastern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art Essays, Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History]
1st
to note is obviously El was sovereign, but another god ran things on
earth for El as his vizier & this was Ba'al. But the Ugaritic tribe
had merged El with the actual worship of Ba'al. To the point that they
were considered the same. Afterall Ba'al simply means LORD in the bible.
This is what prophets like Elijah had to contend with. The people had
no Bible. They had only the prophets and their words. It is unknown what
exactly the deity of Ba'al really was to these peoples. Just like
Daniel 7 God the sovereign declares a ruler, the son of man who defeats
the beast of the sea, among others. Such similarity in this 1 aspect,
one must ask if they are of the same source?
“For God...
Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength[Genesis chpt. 1]: thou brakest
the heads of the dragons in the waters[Yamm]. Thou brakest the heads of
leviathan in pieces[Yamm again], and gavest him to be meat to the
people inhabiting the wilderness.[typical of Ba'al] Thou didst cleave
the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.[also related
to Ba'al] The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared
the light and the sun. Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou
hast made summer and winter” (Psalm 74:12-17).
As one can see
there is much warrior-hunter symbolism here. But apparently this
connection warranted a cessation of using Ba'al to identify Elohim. The
theory is that Moses, unlike Abraham, knew God by his personal name.
However, this bout of metaphysical rambling about consciousness &
time, which is usually what happens, the great I AM, happens to fit
right in with my hypothesis. For if their God was real & could tell
them he was not Ba'al or El or any other Canaanite word then why
continue to use them to define him in your dictionary if it's offensive?
El Shaddai, translated as God Almighty, is the only reference one can find from the pre-Mosaic era. The god of Genesis is
androgenic, often referenced as male & female symbolically. For
instance, there is frequent mentions of mothering & giving birth,
these passages are universally mistranslated in English to mean
fathering. God is only referred to as a father 2 times in Genesis
according to modern Jews. This is not true for the ancient Yahweh who
appears to suppress the worship of El's wife Asherah. Not to mention an
androgenic god could be a later adaptation, replacing the worship of El
& Asherah as a pair who are meant to be worshiped together as one.
In addition, throughout chapter 1 of Genesis the title of Lord is
absent, it is simply God. Is it possible the LORD God is a different
god? Perhaps El is God & the LORD God is the throne for which El
commands who sits. There is also the great flood, clearly something
associated with Yamm. It is as if Yahweh stole these attributes &
applied them to himself.
It is likely as time went on that a kind
of supremacist mentality took over & the Jews got caught up in the
frenzy around their new god. With the other tribes challenging their
Lord, they assumed, perhaps out of ignorance that Yahweh could be
equated with El himself. By the middle of the first millennium BCE
Yahweh had all but replaced El completely, he had taken credit for the
achievements of Baʿal, & was identified as the world-creator like
Marduk of Babylon. Also Tiamat; she may be alluded to in Genesis 1:2,
where the Hebrew for what is translated as “the deep” is 'tehom',
a Hebrew cognate of Tiamat’s name. Clearly a cultural evolution took
place as the emerging Jewish culture came into conflict with the
previous inhabitants.
So then who is Satan? The typical Christian
description of Satan is dubious at best & deeply disconnected from
what Jews actually teach. Jews teach that Satan is Samael & he
resides in heaven with God as his prosecutor in Gods court.
Samael
is the "chief of Satans" (Deut. R. xi. 9; Jellinek, "B. H." i. 125),
quite in the sense of "the prince of the devils" mentioned in Matt. ix.
34; but, on the other hand, he is "the great prince in heaven." (Pirḳe
R. El. xiii., beginning), who rules over angels and powers (ib.;
Martyrdom of Isaiah, ii. 2).
[The Jewish Encyclopedia]
“There
was another angel in the seventh heaven, different in appearance from
all the others, and of frightful mien. His height was so great, it would
have taken five hundred years to cover a distance equal to it, and from
the crown of his head to the soles of his feet he was studded with
glaring eyes, at the sight of which the beholder fell prostrate in awe.
"This one," said Metatron, addressing Moses, "is Samael, who takes the
soul away from man." "Whither goes he now?" asked Moses, and Metatron
replied, "To fetch the soul of Job the pious." Thereupon Moses prayed to
God in these words, "O may it be Thy will, my God and the God of my
fathers, not to let me fall into the hands of this angel."”
[Legends of the Jews: chapter, Ascension of Moses by Louis Ginzberg, pg. 117]
Is
this why the Book of Job has the Devil in heaven? It is this figure
that becomes paramount to the story of Revelations. It is interesting to
note that the Jewish Encyclopedia online has changed their article to
agree with a more shall I say, Christian doctrine. Equating Samael with
Lucifer is problematic, as Samael is always recorded being in heaven
which suggests we was not cast out. Yom Kippur is even dedicated to
appeasing Samael.
“But the goat chosen by lot as the
scapegoat shall be presented alive before the LORD to be used for making
atonement by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat.” (Leviticus 16:10)
Yom
Kippur is the day of atonement, which is where we get the term
scapegoat from. The result is a pleased & happy devil who rests his
prosecution; until you sin of course. It is said he desires perfection,
for everyone to be Godlike.
Samael saw that sin was not to be
found among them (i.e., the Israelites) on the Day of Atonement. He said
before the Holy Blessed One: Sovereign of all the universe! You
(already) have a people (on earth) like the ministering angels who are
in heaven.
[Jewish Mysticism: An Introduction to the Kabbalah by J. Abelson]
And here we can see some positive things coming from the devil.
“Samael
fulfills a positive function during the dividing of the Red Sea,
pushing back the wheels of the chariots of the Egyptians.”
[Midrash Tanhuma-Yelammedenu on Exodus 14:25]
Thus
how do we parallel properly if we have so many changes? Equating Yam to
Yahweh & his pet snake Lotan with Samael? While the characteristics
of Samael have absolutely nothing to do with Lotan, the sea has nothing
to do with the air as Samael does. It is the only logical explanation
as the Midrash texts & much of the symbolism make this difficult to
avoid. El's favoritism, towards Yam turned into Yam's favoritism for
Lotan, just what seems to be the relationship with God & Samael as
is proven by his titles: ‘the venom of God’, ‘the poison of God’, ‘the
blindness of God’, or ‘the left hand of God'.
So with that we can
begin our analysis of Revelations. The 1st thing to note is that the
beast 666 is supposed to be a man. Many will tell you that Nero Ceaser
in Hebrew (נרון קסר) NRON QSR equates to 666. Indeed it does. The truth
about Yahweh is buried under centuries of cultural change. But look
deeper...
666 = Arun HaQadosh "The Holy Ark" (of Moses, 2Chr 35:3) אֲרוֹן הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙
666 = Nezar HaQadosh "The Holy Crown" (of Moses and Aaron, Lev 8:9) נֵ֣זֶר הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ
I added the Hebrew version to be plugged into a gematria calculator, English gives different results.
Whomever
wears the crown & tends to the Ark of the Covenant is worshiping
the same number. For the part that this number (666) is meant for a man,
one only has to do gematria on some common items associated with
Yahweh's kingship.
“As the incarnation of evil he [Samael] is the celestial patron of the sinful empire of Rome, with which Edom and Esau are identified“ (Tan. on Gen. xxxii. 35; Jellinek, l.c. vi. 31, 109, etc.)
[The Jewish Encyclopedia]
The
serpent of Eden is said to be Samael's doing. But this is not attested
by the Torah itself. Rather from various Midrash texts that proclaim
divine inspiration, seemingly all from the medieval times. Meaning the
Jews are borrowing from the Christians, not the other way around. In the
book of Baruch the serpent is created by the Gods wife to replace God
who went absent.
when Elohim and Edem in mutual love made the cosmos,
Elohim chose to rise to the highest part of heaven
to see if their creation lacked any elements.
He took his angels with him and rose, as was his nature,
and he abandoned Edem below,
who being earth declined to follow her husband upward.
He heard a voice out of the light, saying,
….
"This is the lord's gate. The just pass through it."
The gate was immediately opened,
and the father, without his angels, went into the Good
and saw what eye has not seen or ear heard
and what has not arisen in the human heart.
The Good said to him, "Sit down at my right hand."
The father said to the Good,
"Let me destroy the cosmos I made.
My spirit is imprisoned among people.
I want to take it back."
Then the Good told him, "Nothing which comes
from me can be evil. In your companion love
you and Edem made the world. Let Edem keep the creation
as long as she wishes, but you must stay with me."
Then Edem knew she was abandoned by Elohim
and sorrowfully began to gather angels around her
and adorn herself brightly23 to arouse his return.
But under the Good's control Elohim no longer
descended to Edem. Then Edem commanded Babel,
which here means the goddess Aphrodite,
to incite fornication and divorce among people,
so that as she was separated from Elohim
the spirit of Elohim in people might feel affliction
and be tormented and suffer like her, Edem,
his abandoned wife. And Edem gave grand authority
to Naas, her third angel, to torture the spirit
of Elohim in people with all possible tortures
so through that spirit Elohim might himself
be tortured—he who had abandoned Edem
in cold violation of their covenant.
When the father Elohim saw these things,
he sent down Baruch, his own third angel,
to comfort the spirit living in all people.
When Baruch came he stood among the angels
of Edem, in the midst of paradise. Paradise
was the angels among whom he stood,
and he commanded the people "to eat from
every tree in paradise, except from the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil,"
which tree is Naas.
[The
Gnostic Bible; Gnostic Texts of Mystical Wisdom form the Ancient &
Medieval Worlds by Willis Barnstone, Marvin Meyer; Book of Baruch, pg.
128-129]
This passage comes from the Naassene sect, who claim
direct knowledge passed down from James the Just, according to
Hippolytus of Rome. It is thought to be written by the scribe of
Jeremiah, Baruch ben Neriah. The significant point here is that it was
Elohim's wife that created the serpent Naas. This is significant because
it would appear the Christian movement began as a radical revaluation
of their culture. An exploration into the past & thus the acquiring
of secrets that could challenge the religious norms of the time. As
indicated by “Thunder Perfect Mind” in the Gnostics Nag Hammadi texts
where the divine feminine is expressed, a revival of old customs
flourished among the Gnostic sects, likely drawing on older myths like
Asherah, supposed wife of Yahweh or El.
The Tau or X, T is thought
to be the original mark of Cain, showing the absolution of sin; as well
as Tammuz of Babylon. Yet this symbol has been adopted by many
Christians.
”and the LORD said to him, "Go through the midst
of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the
foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are
done within it.” (Ezekiel 9:4)
What was this mark? It surely
cannot be the Tau could it? In fact crucifixion is a mistranslation,
the actual word being used is 'stauros'.
"STAUROS denotes, primarily, an upright pole or stake ... Both the noun and the verb stauroo, to fasten to a stake or pole, are originally to be distinguished from
the ecclesiastical form of a two-beamed cross. The shape of the latter
had its origin in ancient Chaldea (Babylon), and was used as the symbol
of the god Tammuz (being in the shape of the mystic Tau, the initial of his name)
... By the middle of the 3rd century A.D. at the Council of Nicea the
churches had either departed from, or had travestied, certain doctrines
of The Faith found in The Bible.”
[Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words]
"crosses
were used as symbols of the Babylonian Sun-god (Tammuz)... It should be
stated that Constantine was a Sun-god worshipper ... The evidence is
thus complete, that Yahusha was put to death upon an upright stake, and
not on two pieces of timber placed at any angle."
[Dr. Bullinger, in the Companion Bible, appx. 162]
“we
read, "In the Egyption churches the cross was a pagan symbol of life
borrowed by the pagan-Christians and interpreted in the pagan manner."
Jacob Grimm, in his Deutsche Mythologie, says that the Teutonic
(Germanic) tribes had their idol Thor, symbolized by a hammer, while the
Roman Pagans had their crux (cross). It was thus somewhat easier for
the Teutons to accept the Roman Cross.”
[Encyclopaedia Britannica, 11th edition, vol. 14, p. 273]
frankly
calls the cross "this Pagan symbol ... the Tau, the sign of the cross,
the indisputable sign of Tammuz, the false Messiah ... the mystic Tau of
the Cladeans (Babylonians) and Egyptians - the true original form of
the letter T the initial of the name of Tammuz ... the Babylonian cross
was the recognized emblem of Tammuz."
[Rev. Alexander Hislop, The Two Babylons, pp. 197-205]
Yet another symbol of Babylon... Is it the same mark?
“Now
a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the
moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then
being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. And
another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon
having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His
tail drew a third of the stars of heaven cand threw them to the earth.
And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, eto
devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a male Child who was
to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to
God and His throne. Then athe woman fled into the wilderness, where she
has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one
thousand two hundred and sixty days.” (Revelations 12:1-6)
Here
we have a remarkable parallel between the dragon, the presumably the
whore of Babylon & a child to be devoured. Strange as it reminds me
of the story of Zeus's birth. According to Hesiod's Theogony Zeus was
born in the caves of Crete. Put there by Gaia who was hiding him from
Cronus who was going to devour him.
“One of the heads of the
beast appeared to be mortally wounded. But the mortal wound was healed,
and the whole world marveled and followed the beast. They worshiped the
dragon who had given authority to the beast, and they worshiped the
beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can wage war against it?”” (Revelations 13:3-4)
Remember Yamm? He was mortally wounded but was healed only to came back to fight Ba'al more.
“Then
the beast was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer
them, and it was given authority over every tribe and people and tongue
and nation. And all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast—all
whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in
the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb who was slain." (Revelations 13:7-8)
Just
as Yahweh has absorbed & conquered so too shall the representative
of this symbol do the same as all cultures have before.
And finally let us compare some bible verses...
"And
he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and
the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or
on their forehead." (Rev 13:16)
Compared to:
"So let it be a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead, for Yahweh brought us out of Egypt by the strength of His hand." (Exodus 13:16)
Coincidence? What about these verses?
”And
I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the
sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns,
and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was
like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” (Revelations 13:1-2)
Clearly a reference to the Yamm & the Leviathan. The beast of the sea. To which Cronus-El gives authority.
”Yet I am the Lord thy God
from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is
no saviour beside me. I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of
great drought. According to their pasture, so were they filled; they
were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten
me. Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them: I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.” (Hosea 13:4-8)
While
the context has changed, the symbolism doesn’t, notice that the story
of revelations is now modified to imply that Israel has lost it’s way
& must be punished. So what is corrupting the Israelite's?
“And in all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but a third will be left in it.” (Zechariah 13:8)
Obviously this parallels with the book of Revelations.
“So now the LORD has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours. The LORD has decreed disaster for you.” (1 Kings 22:23)
”That's
why God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe a
lie. and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth
but have delighted in wickedness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)
“And
God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the leaders of Shechem,
and the leaders of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech...” (Judges 9:23)
"This
said the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine
own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them
unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this
sun." (2 Samuel 12:11)
While the book of Revelations starts
with the 144,000 sealed, the followers who are not to be touched. These
verses are demonstrating that the Jewish God is clearly in command of
the demons that befall the world. Thus it is hard to deny, the role
Yahweh plays in his final drama. The end of world may not be coming soon
but our days are numbered if we continue down the path of ignorance.
